Question Dell AIO Inspiron 20 3052 No Hard Drive Issue

Sep 14, 2016
Here's a run-down of the issue. At random times the computer will turn off, run the Dell Diagnostics, and says "No Hard Drive detected". After I restart the computer, it boots directly into Windows 10 Home after about 3 minutes of waiting. This has been happening for the past 2 months at the rate of once every 2-3 weeks.

What I've done so far to fix this issue was to replace the hard drive as I thought that perhaps the hard drive was failing. When I replaced the hard drive, it didn't do it for almost 6 months afterwards. The hard drive is passing every S.M.A.R.T. test that I've put it through so I'm pretty sure that it's not the hard drive. Upon inspecting the computer closely, there's no issues that I can see with the hard drive cable nor with the motherboard.

Here's a rundown of the specs of this computer:
  • Dell Inspiron 20 3052 (3 years old)
  • Intel Pentium J3710 @ 1.6 GHz
  • 4GB DDR3L
  • 500GB 5400RPM SATA HDD
  • Windows 10 Home x64
