Here you go http://www.youcpu.com/en/chipset/Mobile-Intel-GM965-Express-Chipset-Intel-82GM965-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller The XPS m1530 comes with the pm but the same as the gm just with out the X3100 gma graphics. Note that the the X seris (Extreme) may not work or it will but will run hot and may kill the 8000M nvidia chip do to lack off proper cooling, like mine few months back. So the max I would say you should use is the T9500.

The maximum is T9900 dual-core processors for this chipset. But I want to install Core 2 Extreme QX9300. The stock TDP for the model Dell XPS M1530 will allow it.

the T9900 and X9300 is for the GM/PM45 http://www.youcpu.com/en/chipset/Mobile-Intel-GM45-Express-Chipset-Intel-82GM45-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller-Hub Not for the pm965, the dell xps M1530 only comes with the 965 chipset if you look here http://www.lapspecs.com/detail/dell+xps+m1530 unless you have a xps m1640 but that a whole different model. It will not work the max FSB of the 965 is 800 while the 45 series is 1066 and the x9300 and T9900 is 1066.

The Core 2 Extreme X9000 is based on Penryn core, and it uses Socket P. There are also 49 Intel Penryn CPUs, that work in the same socket.

Penryn works with a series of chipsets Bearlake, released in 2007, some models that support the new standard DDR3 SDRAM, and support processors with data bus 1333 MHz, 1600 MHz. On laptops and other mobile systems, Penryn runs on a Crestline chipset that is disabled for DDR3 or GS45, which supports both DDR2 and DDR3.

If you are really that determined that it will work then try it, even though it will most likely not due to the fact of them being two different types of chip set models, can be based on the same platform/name but doesn't mean it will work and it will most likely not . And multiple websites and forums stating that the max cpu that will work normally is T9500 or the x9000 work. Even if the T9900 or the x9300 work it will either run down clocked or not post at all due to Dell cpu bios support. Dell never intend to run x9300 series or run 1066 fsb cpu on the M1530 so it will most likely not work. If you do not believe me ask other forums also they will most likely say the same thing.

Well, I'll try to install this processor and write the result later. But my question was what processors does BIOS A12 support?

I sent it in my first post and here it is again, http://www.youcpu.com/en/chipset/Mobile-Intel-GM965-Express-Chipset-Intel-82GM965-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller and http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/PM965_Express.html All core 2 duo form t7100 to the T9500 will work.. and the X9000 there is no one really stating it worked fully. but the x9000 is not work the price.

This is a list of processors supported by the PM965 chipset. The BIOS stores information for the microcode of the processor, it does not always match the list of CPUs supported by the chipset. In the BIOS can be made additional data on the processors that were released later than the date of the laptop, as well as other more modern compatible processors with this chipset.

I can see your point but if you google most of those on the list where available with m1530-M1330 except for the U since those are bga. It not like Dell will cut half of the cpus off in the bios either since there is not point of doing that except of the X series. Here a another website that states what cpus will work with the M1530.. https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/Dell-XPS-M1530/280 And if you look at the dell A12 patch notes for the update it states "1.1. Added enhancement for Wifi sniffer function." And dell pretty much abandoned this series of xps because of the 8000m series gpu kept failing.
