Dell blue tooth patch R140135 exe will not install

I can't get my dell 6400 (internal bluetooth card) to discover a microsoft bluetooth 5000 mouse. The problem seems to be that the R140135 patch (for the R159805.exe driver -WIDCOMM 6.0.1.3100)will not install. Dell support say I have to re-install Vista which seems a bit extreme and I am reluctant to do. Any better suggestions? chris p

Does you get any error message while you trying to install the patch?
