Is there any dell CPU compatibility list that is based on the model of the system, or based on the chipset? Like I could type in dell optiplex 3010 or something and get a complete list of cpus I can install based on Dell. I have browsed for a little bit and I cant find any, however I'm not the best finder of certain things.

Thank you

Intel core 2nd and 3rd gen cpus are supported with TDP up to 77W. Higher TDP models will require cpu heatsink upgrade.

Here list of all Intel core 2nd and 3rd gen cpus.

Hello, i could give you this:
https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/Dell-OptiPlex-3010/2323#Compatibility
Here you can see some compatibles cpus, but anything from 3º gen cpus will work, i3, i5, i7.
I was not talking about the 3010 per say, that was a simple example. 3010 could be 980, or 3060, its just a representation of ANY dell optiplex. Also, Limus tech tips did a video on a 69 dollar gaming pc and couldn't put an extreme cpu into the dell pc he used because it was not validated on Dell's compatibility list. That is the list I am looking for. Not necessarily for the one he used, just any and all Dell's.

That is 100% true for custom PC's built around that time. Dell is more picky about which CPU's they will take in their prebuilts. Remember also, Dell is not cyberpower or ibuypower. Dell uses proprietary components like HP. Ibuypower and Cyberpower use off the shelf components. If we were talking about a cyberpower or ibuypower system, like I said, you would be 100% right. I dont wanna spend money on upgrading i3's or i5's to i7;s if they wont even work in Dell systems, thats what I dont know, and I need a complete list of compatible CPU's for any dell system I buy off of ebay. Or I could search it by chipset, it doesnt matter. That shouldnt be too much to ask for, but again, dell doesnt want most people to upgrade their systems, but I just know they provide a list, i just dont know where it is.
