Hello all,

I have a Dell XPS 630i system. The motherboard is a C113J, current processor is a Intel SLB5M Core 2 Quad Q8200, 2.33ghz/4M/1333.

I don't want to cause any conflict with my OS when I get this back together.

I have been trying to find a list of compatible processors for this motherboard and have had no luck. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

Hi

The Dell User guide is a bit vague

-------------------------------------------
Processor type Intel
®
Core™ 2 Duo
Intel Core 2 Quad
Intel Core 2 Extreme (dual and quad-core
processor)
Cache at least 1 MB
FSB speed 1066/1333 MHz
System Information
System chipset NVIDIA®nForce 650i SL

-----------------------------
You can change the CPU without Windows Vista or 7 objecting

Have you asked Dell or one of their support forums what is the fasted supported CPU ?

This, that's pretty expensive for an older CPU.

Mike, I should of also mentioned the system came with XP Pro. I did call Dell, they are about useless, nobody can speak or understand English. They said I would have to ship the whole computer to them so they could replace the MB & CPU. Not going to happen. The 630I is a heavy box. They could not provide me with a list of processors that would work with the C113J MB. Then went on to say he didn't show any Intel processors for that board (funny since I have one here).

I'm just trying to see if I can upgrade with out cause any conflict.
