Dell D630 VGA to DisplayPort (or HDMI)

I am unable to get my D630 output to a DisplayPort monitor. I have relevant cables - the VGA to DisplayPort - seems to all be kosher. Still - no output. I tried Dual Display on the Intel Graphics card - as well as simply a single display (to the monitor).
Has anyone had success with this? My OS is windows 7 pro and the monitor is an LG

VGA is an analog signal and display port is digital. You need more than a cable. You need an active converter. There are some VGA to HDMI converters. You could then go to display port.
