Dell desktop computer

Dell desktop push button to start but doesn't sound like it stays on, it's like in sleep mode. The blue start button is flashing slow. My granddaughter was using it and she said it was like going on and off the screen was, so she just turned off the monitor. I go to use it and it doesn't do anything but turn dark like the monitor isn't connected. I've tried lots of things but nothing works. Could it be the video card or the graphic card.....hope someone has an answer I've never had issues with this desktop. This is a computer I used at my old job and I bought from the company....it worked great.

Model? Windows version? Age of computer? Have you tried rebooting?
