Dell dimension 2400 pentium 4 new gpu

I have a old dell dimension 2400 and I want to put a new GPU into it , but I don't want to get a new system or turn it into a sleeper, and I don't want the pentium 4 3.06ghz to bottleneck it. What should I put into it? PS, the PC has windows XP and needs to have a HDMI port in it

What type of expansion port does it have for a GPU, AGP or PCIe? How big is the powersupply?

1. You wanna make sure the PSU can handle it. Brand name computers typically come with very small wattage PSU installed.
2. It's likely that the old legacy BIOS on that dell wont support new GTX 11xx GPUs.

You'd probably be able to find a GT 610 or similar with a PCI (non-Express) interface. Or 8400 GT/GS.

First off, you are beating a dead horse,

the cpu is a single core, unless you are browsing web and typing documents, you won't be able to do any modern gaming with this rig.

It most likely have agp slot or worse only pci slots.

OP didn't state what the purpose/use of the PC will be.

Googling that system shows that it only has PCI expansion slots. That means that you will have almost no way of putting any form of GPU into that system. There is absolutely no reason to do anything to that system besides recycling it. For example the cheapest GPU that will work for it on newegg is $100 and even putting $50 into that thing isn't worth it.

Here's a thread that's all about old hardware like that. One beastly GPU is the Voodoo 5500 2x GPU PCI card. Probably not worth the money though.
