Dell Dimension 3100 Sound Card.

Hello,
I have a Dell Dimension 3100 PC. I recently reloaded Windows XP Home Edition on it and now my sound won't work. I went into the Device Manager and uninstalled the the audio driver and the reinstalled it but nothing so I went on the Dell website and downloaded the driver from there and it still wouldn't work. I then wend back in the device manager and noticed it had the yellow question mark beside "Multimedia Controller" so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. When reinstalling it says" Failed to install device" What do I do to get it to install?

Try installing chipset drivers first, then audio drivers.
