first time tinkering with any computer. Power button gives me no lights...green or whatever else there is. Where should I look first? Thanks.
Making progress. Took everything out for cleaning. Got new 512 RAM, Pent 3, new to me MOBO, and keyboard/mouse. WinXP Pro is ok and I'll stick with that. Waiting on new Wireless card.
So everything seems to work. Still looking for HK 19.5 speakers

old 256 ram cards and old MOBO both available for trade for HK speakers.

my goal is to get it working so my grandson can do Minecraft etc. It's been sitting unused for quite a while. I started by cleaning out the dust and putting in a fresh battery. It won't start properly. There is a humming sound and one of the fans comes on. I decided I may as well learn something having never gone inside one before. Read the manual. Did some research online. Thought I might upgrade a bit as well. Ordered a better HD and a new Pentium 3 chip. The Ram you mention is interesting. When I took them out they were 2 different makes. Is that normal? Also one is taller than the other. I think I'll also go from 256 to 512. Ordered those too. Now just waiting for the parts. I hope the 200w power source is ok. Thanks for your help.
