Dell Dimension 8400 PSU Upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my psu in my 8400. I was checking out some on Newegg and I found http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139003

Will this work and fit in my dell case? I already know that the back of the case will need to be cut to accommodate the power switch on the back. Any comments would be very helpful. The last thing I want to do is buy a PSU that won't fit in the case.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

That¿s a good PSU, BUT bear in midn that the most of the DELL's PSU aren't standar ATX. So, give me the model (Dell inspiton 1520 for example) of the PC and we can see if the PSU that you want that fit on the case.

THIS is your current PSU, is ATX form factor, so, you can change without problems. BUT if you want a good upgrade for your PSU try to get a 500W or 550W PSU, your current PSU is 460W (maybe not real).

No, that's a replacement psu.
The stock psu in an 8400 was a 350 watt/28 amp Newton/Delta, and definitely real.
