Dell Dimension 9200 (XPS 410 in the US)

Hi, I'm in the market for a new desktop PC and I came across a sale Dell is having on the Dimension 9200. With the components listed as follows, the price comes out to $879CAD ($925US) before tax. I've chosen the minimum components for the RAM and HDD with the intent of upgrading in the future as necessary. This seems like a pretty good deal to me, but I haven't had much experience building computers. I was also wondering about the quality of Dell components. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It really depends on what you are going to use it for.

For a regular "run-of-the-mill" Computer, that is decently High-end, but hey, its a dell.

I have had some dell systems run for years, and for what they were used for, they worked great.
Some others however were not so lucky, but out of the computer companies out there, dell is one of the better ones as far as reliablilty and customer service.

If what you are looking for is a mediocre rig to play some newer games and handle everyday task, then it is a good deal.

Vista home premium will seem pretty slow on it, if you are used to a machine with XP, but I have heard nice things about that processor model and their Overclocking capabilities.

Besides that, you GPU is decent and DX10, but pretty entry level. (Will play most DX9 games very well.)

As far as the entry level gamer, or decent work station, that would be a great computer for the price.

If what you are looking for is a more intense rig, however, that won't cut it.

It really depends on what your goals are.
