Dell Dimension Desktop 4400

My old 4400 keeps saying this - Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (Code 19). Plus when I go to "My Computer" area, it shows that my internal DVD-RAM (D drive is an external drive. I don't know what to do, and "Thanks" in advance to help who help me in this matter.

Try a Windows repair by using the Windows CD.

Hello Ubralas - That worked and it now shows up as a DVD RW Drive, Thanks for your help and sorry for being so late with my reply.

Glad it worked! Another thing that usually works (except in this case) is a "Restart" of the computer! A restart usually solves a lot of problems.
