Dell display driver problem

Hi,

I'm running XP SP2 on a dimension 4700 with a E1713FP ( flat panel )
display, & builtin Intel 915G Express chipset. The problem I'm having
is I get "cannot display this video mode" error messages when running
some apps. I know the resolution is supported. When I go into device
manager, under display, I see 2 instances of "default display". I
tried deleting them, and installing the driver that came on the display
CD, and I get one instance of "default display" and below it "Dell
E173FP". I still get the error message cannot display this video mode".
I've verified I have the latest drivers. Anyone seen this behaviour
before? Any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks,

Jeff

Maybe uninstall all monitor devices after enabling to show all the
hidden devices?

Hi Curious,

That was one of the first things I tried.( there were 4 entries of
"default display ).
