Question Dell Dock, what can I do with it?

We have a dell docking unit that I believe what it is, few hdmı ports, 1 displayport, ethernet port and plenty USB ports. problem is Dell laptop do not have CD-ROM and we do not have ideas what I can do with it without using dell laptop. Strange because they also included a driver CD and tons of documents for the dock which all of them says same thing. It is Dell D3100,

USB dock, plug it in and it should make all those ports work on anything. Not sure what a CD-ROM has to do with anything. If you need the drivers, download them?
