I just got a Dell and in "My Computer" the processor showed up as the dual
core pentium extreme edition (which is what I have)

I reformatted the system and installed windows xp (I typically wipe any
system fresh when I get it) and now in my computer the processor only shows
Intel Pentium D CPU 3.20GHz

Nothing has changed, bios or anything, but just thought it was odd...

Any ideas? Do I need special drivers or anything? Or is this what should
show? Thanks!

You may need to reinstall the motherboard drivers to get it to recognize the
processor.
