Dell e1909w repair

Hi!

i had a problem with my monitor(dell e 1909w), when i was working suddenly the screen went black not completely black fade that i can hardly see the background and this will be solved by turn off the monitor 2 or 3 times!

so i open the monitor and want to repair it! when i was working on inverter tow of the regulator pillars connect together and a big sparkle happen!

i buy and changed that regulator but it not fixed!

what should i change to fix this monitor? is there anything spoiled on the inverter board that i should fix or change?

The most common problem with power supplies is failing electrolytic capacitors. If you see ANY of them bulging you should replace all of them. I have repaired several LCD monitors by just replacing $20 of capacitors.

Just wrote another guy about a similar issue. its most likely 100% a cap issue as PhilFrisbie said. I've done dozens of these. All it takes is 30-45 minutes depending on how good your soildering/taking apart a monitor skills are and buying the right size caps. Just make sure they get soildered back on the right way with the right polarity or they will blow again!
