I just replaced my keyboard. I got the computer without one. So I bought a new one, but not from Dell.

With this new keyboard, many keys don't work including all the ones on the far right side of the keyboard. When I type a:
1 q1 shows up
2 w2 shows up
3 e3 shows up
and so on
q qa1 shows up
w ws2 shows up
e ed3
r rf4b
t nothing
y nothing
u uj7n
I ik8
o ol9
p p;o/
Enter nothing

It works fine with an external keyboard. The touchpad works fine.

When I look at keyboard properties, it says that the device is working properly.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in resolving the issue.
- Check keyboard language settings.
- Open Control Panel and look for Region and Language.
- Check all tabs if they are all set to United States.
- If that doesn't work, try pressing those following keys which are not working using your onscreen keyboard (Ease of Access look for Onscreen keyboard)
- Connect an external keyboard and see if the same problem will persist because if does you may need to consider on doing a complete Factory Reset cause it's a problem with your operating system.

It is a fresh install of Windows 7 not using a Dell disk.

It was used and came without a keyboard or HD, so I put in a disk and purchased a new keyboard, not from Dell, and installed Windows 7.

Keyboard is set to US.

Onscreen keyboard works fine.

External keyboard works fine.

Any other thoughts will be appreciated.
