i just got my computer shopper and there is a review on the dell 1703fp. i went to dell's site and the specs look interesting; .264mm dot pitch, 600:1 image contrast ratio, dvi & analog, 4 usb 2.0 ports, both portrait & landscape modes and it also comes w/the cables.

it looks good on paper and for $500 it seems like a good deal.

i have 2 questions:
1) i can't find the refresh rate (16ms, 25ms etc)?
2) anyone actually use one? i looking for medium gaming (diablo 2, tron 2.0, the hobbit, rise of nations) along w/the normal windows xp and ms office. i have an ati 128mb 9500 pro video card on a 2.4b p4.

I just spent a good 15 minutes on google trying to find a reponse time for this thing, and the only thing I saw was in a review where it was mentioned as having a 25ms response time along with the 1901FP. All of the reviews for this thing look like they're just 'cut and pasted.'

Odd Indeed.

i just got the latest dell advertisement and a) they don't list that monitor and b) all the others are 25ms. so i'd say it's save to assume that they all are 25ms.

I have the 1901FP, sweet! 4 USB, Analog & Digital, Height adjustable, Portrait or landscapes display. I use this with 2 computers, one on the digital line the other on the analog. Use a 2 port KVM for the mouse & Keyboard. Fast response, used for Morrowind. Came with 3 unlit pixels and I had to look hard to spot them, smaller than a speck of dust. Paid $490 from Dell. Make sure you check the sale sites like FatWallet.com or BenBargains.net for coupons and discounts.

I got the latest Dell Catalog and the monitor is listed as a 25ms monitor. I am also looking at this monitor and would like to know people's feelings on the ghosting of this monitor. I like the features of this monitor, the usb hub and the dual inputs and was thus also looking at the Q17, but this monitor is obviously much easier to find in the U.S...are there any other monitors with the same features?
