[SOLVED] dell g5 gaming desktop ram

hey guys just wondering dell reccomennds 2 slots of ram to be used . I currently have 16gb ram total 8x2. I was wondering can i try purchasing another 8x2 to fill the other 2 slots to make it 32gb? Will this potentially work or forget about it? thnx

Yes you can use all the slots just try the purchase ram that is the same speed as your other ones.

thanks worst case i can return the ram. If the ram does fail on boot is there any harm or should be ok? dell says to get 32gb i need 2x 16gb but i would rather do 4x8gb same speed if possible

It won't hurt anything, you should be more then fine with 4x8gb
