I recently have a Dell GX620 CPU but didn't not get any connections to hook this up to my flat screen monitor I already had. Can this be done? IF so I did get a flat connector with pins in it which is white in color but no cord? Where and what kind should I get to get up and running? Any answer welcomed greatly. Also need to know if I need anything special to hook a laptop(which stays in the living room hooked to DSL box) and a desktop in home office in order to get both on the internet without having to have another DSL box put in my office??? Mini cards? In both machines? Or just one needs it for this to work???

Uh....ok.

Sounds like you need a DVI cable to hook it up to your monitor. Thats assuming your monitor has a DVI connection. If not, you need a DVI->VGA dongle that you plug onto the DVI connector on the back of the computer and then plug the monitor into that with a VGA cable.

For the internet thing. You need a router. Go to any Best Buy, Circuit City, etc and pick one up. Its not a DSL box, its a DSL modem.

DSL Modem -> Router -> Desktop and Laptop.

I have a Polaroid 15" flat screen HD screen. On the back it shows a D-sub to hook to my tower and a Audio spot for that one too. But all I got with my tower was a white connection gizmo with no wire to run it from place to the other, also don't have a D-sub cable...Can I pick these items up at my local Radio Shack or would you advise else where?

Many of the optiplex gx620's come with a single D-sub-looking video card that needs a Y splitter to plug anything into. You will notice there is no breaks in the pins next to the horizontal pin. You need to find out from where you got it where that Y cable is. P.S. you buy a DVI cable and it doesnt fit, Im right. As for where to buy one if needed.... Im not sure, prolly dell is the best place to ask.

2 days now and still don't have Optiplex up and running. Found out through the Polairod company my flat screen came from it doesn't have enough resalution so hooked it up to the big tv in the front room which is 31". Thinking this should work>>>>not. So called Dell, to tell them this. Was told that I needed to put it on the big tv and hook my PC up to it and they were to walk me through it to make the resalution smaller so I can use my 15" flat screen in my other room. Sat on the phone over 30 mins an finally hung up. What a waste. I hooked up a S-video cord to the big tv and to the PC still nothing. So don't know if something I'm doing wrong or the PC might be trash...Darn them Dell people.
Any other ideas on how to do this?? Without alot of BS??
