Recently bought a new Dell G3 3779. It has a 1T SSD drive and an SATA mechanical drive. The SATA is only 100gig's. Dell installed the operating system on the SATA and it is almost full. I would like to install a larger SATA drive, but can I install an SSD without messing with the system? I assume I likely can, but is there a reason Dell used an SATA drive? But why such a small one?

In Windows file explorer it shows that the C: drive is the SATA drive and it has the operating system on it. The SSD drive has just a tiny bit used. I will take a screen shot when I get home after work.

The SSD drive is 128GB- PC SN520 NVMe WDC 128GB.
The SATA is WDC WD10SPZX-75Z10T2
The SSD is a 128gb pcie ssd A small board that plugs in to a slot horizontally.
The computer runs on the SSD and has the operating system on the SSD. That is why it is almost full.
I would like to increase the size of the SSD, but not sure which type to buy.
