Hello everyone, first time posting here. I hope someone can help as I desperately need this laptop for my work.

Last week my laptop started getting really slow and eventually just stopped. On reboot it says that there are no hardrives installed. So I made the assumtion that the hdd had just failed.

I bought an M.2 SSD to fill the available slot and used a USB to load up a fresh install of windows... but on installation it asks me for Device Drivers.

I found a similar post on this website that was resolved by using Rufus to isnatll on the USB drive... but I have had no luck at all with that. Now I just get a unhappy face blue screen.

Computer: Dell Inspiron 14 7000 series (manufactured in brazil)
USB: Sandisk 16gb
SSD: m.2 2280 WD Green 240gb
OS: windows 10

UPDATE: Just to give extra information as I am still struggling with this.

My dad has extracted the individual drivers for my device from their .exe files and I have tried installing them individually but all of them end with this message:

No new drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers, then click next.

The drivers are directly downloaded from Dell for this specific model.

Oops

That new drive is a SATA M.2 ssd but the product description for the available drives in that model says it accommodates NVMe M.2 drives.

"Up to Dual drives with 128GB PCIe NVMe SSD + 1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive"

https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-laptops-netbooks-and-tablets/inspiron-14-7000/spd/inspiron-14-7472-laptop

So can you return the SATA drive and acquire a PCIe drive ? A consideration too is that this spec limits available options to a 128 GB unit, and I wonder if the bios will support a larger size M.2 ? Best to ask Del support before you replace it.

Thanks for your response. I have considered this option but I have actually used the same SSD a friend of mine used in the exact model of laptop in Brazil. The model you have shown is slightly different, possibly an international version...

Extra details of my system.
Dell Inspiron 14
Core i5 7th Gen dual core
Reg model p74g (001)

I have put it in the only free m.2 slot beneath the current HD.

I have installed the media creation tool and created a bootable USB drive which has got me to the installation. The installation starts but then stops and requests missing device drivers. When I select the drivers I downloaded from the Dell support site... it says 'No new drivers were found'.

I have also tried Rufus to create a bootable USB. Didn't work. Now I am trying the Dell support assistant software to create the bootable drive. Let's see if it works.

Still having problems.

I decided to give dells own USB media creator tool but I come across the same problem. It's acting as if I am missing a driver... but when try to select a driver it says there is nothing new. Dell even provides the specific drivers needed for my device on installation.

Can anyone help me? I am getting desperate. literally weeks after my Dell warranty ran out... very frustrating. They won't even talk to me unless I pay a weeks salary and I would be so annoyed if it was something so small and simple.
