Hi,
I've had a Dell Inspiron 15R Special Edition (7520) since September 2012.
Recently i have started to play PC games such as CS:GO, ArmA 3 etc.
I can run csgo at 40-50fps on low settings, but arma3 runs at 20-30fps on low settings.

Attached info about pc and arma3 requirements for info.

Im not too advanced at computer upgrading etc so im asking if theres any possible upgrades i can do to my laptop to make it run arma 3 and other games better and at higher fps..From what i've read online it seems that I cant really upgrade my laptop but im asking here to double check incase i can..

Alternatively are there any tips you can give for me to increase performance?
ive already updated all drivers to latest updates and optimized disc and left about 200gb/1tb space free for the games to run
anything else i could do would be appreciated :)

Theres no point in me getting a proper gaming pc etc as im going off to uni in a few months..

Thanks

Jeremy

Solution
Your GPU isn't upgradeable as it's soldered to the motherboard. The CPU is upgradeable, but here's the problem; the only CPU that's faster is only so by 100MHz, not worth your time and money at all. 8GB of RAM is just fine as well. Honestly, if you're looking for something better, upgrading your current laptop isn't it.

Hello. I know this is an old post, but I'm having a lot of troubles with my Inspirion 15r SE 7520 right now. Would you happen to have upgraded to windows 10? If so, exactly what driver versions are you using for both graphic cards? My graphic cards have become incompatible since windows 10 and I'm not sure how to solve this. I was also considering upgrading to a different graphics card to maybe fix it.

I'm not OP, but you should always try running Display Driver Uninstaller when you encounter driver problems like this. Basically it does a deep cleanse of all your driver files so you can install new drivers without worrying about incompatibilities with previous driver versions. I like to run DDU then install Intel drivers followed by AMD drivers:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25977/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-33-?product=97499
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/mobile?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064

Make sure to download drivers (I prefer putting them on the desktop) BEFORE running DDU; you don't technically have to but it makes things quicker.

I've tried so many times to clean the drivers completely and start from scratch it's hurting my head. The main issue was my upgrade to windows 10. Since then the drivers have been completely incompatible. I'm not even sure if the latest versions of each driver are compatible together because I can't install them. As soon as the download/install is done or it's close I get Blue Screen Of Death. Usually it's the error message: Thread Stuck In Device Driver. Maybe my graphics card is just burnt out or not working. I know for a fact that my Intel graphics are functional, but I can't say for sure if my Radeon is at all. I certainly don't feel like it has been active for at least a few months now. It's also impossible to also get to switchable graphics in Catalyst Control Centre. I've installed so many different drivers for both graphics cards and I can't load the Control Centre with any of them without BSOD. If there is anywhere that you can direct me or any input you have that would be great. Thank you
