my dell inspiron 1750 takes around 8 mins to even get to the password page and will not connect to windows please if any 1 can help i would be very greatful x thanks

Sounds like your OS is on its way out.. I would recommend completing a backup of your data/serial numbers and completing a fresh install of windows.
