Hey,
I am looking to buy a laptop that i will be running fusion360 3d modeling on,
It will also be used for general browsing, document processing watching videos etc..

My Partner has a Dell inspiron 15 5100 (i7 8GB ram Radeon R5 M430)
The performance of this seems acceptable for what i want to do, however when looking for my own laptop i found most other inspiron 15 had i5 processor..
I also found Inspiron 3000 that also has i7 8GB ram R5 M430 etc..
It seems nearly identical, so i must ask if the processor etc can be the same between 3000 and 5000 then what is the actually different?

My budget is around $1200 AUD if there is something else that would be better..

Appreciate the help,

Even if they have the exact same specs, there must be some difference in display quality, build and weight.

That's what makes the difference.

You pay more more for the portability, build quality and premium features.

Higher end series also have high upgradability, unlike 8 GB in 3000, you can upgrade RAM up to 32 GB in 5000, although most people wouldn't ever need that much of RAM.
