Hello,

I recently bought Dell Inspiron 3671 - https://www.dell.com/en-ie/shop/desktops-and-all-in-ones/new-desktop-pc/spd/inspiron-3671-desktop
I wanted to upgrade it and bought a new PSU and GPU:
GPU: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/b-grade-asus-radeon-rx-580-arez-dual-oc-8192mb-gddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-bg-9bt-as.html Radeon RX 580 arez dual oc 8gb
PSU: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kolink-classic-power-500w-80-plus-bronze-power-supply-ca-04e-kk.html (500W)

First, I needed an adapter for the mobo from 24 pin to 8 pin, once I got that, I was able to use the PSU to power to PC and run it with the integrated video card. Once I installed my GPU, the computer tries to boot for 2-3 seconds (fan comes on) and then shuts down, I don't think the PSU is too weak for the GPU (even if it was, it wouldn't just shut down straight away), I'm thinking now that the mobo PCI-E slot doesn't provide enough power to run the GPU ? (total guess here).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

TK
