Dell inspiron 530 will not turn on

My Dell inspiron 530 will not turn on. No blue light in front, just green light comes in in back of computer, and both fans turn on for a second, then nothing.Moved to diff. outlet, no change. I saw some posts that it could be the power supply or motherboard. How do I check these b/4 I go out and buy new ones.

Hi,

My dell 530 stopped working this morning. It looks like it is the same issue: no blue light, the green LED on the back (power supply) is on. When I turn the computer on both fans start working for a sec and then nothing.
Any idea how to determine what component I should replace?
