dell Inspiron 5559 i5 dead

Hello Everyone,
i need help

My friend's laptop is dead completely,when he is putting it on charge the charger itself is turning off the green light on the adapter is switching off

can someone tell me what can cause this problem?

Ive removed the battery and try to switched it on without still the power supply switch off
