dell inspiron 7000 keyboard and touchpad not working

I have dell inspiron 7000 keyboard stop working after coffee split on it. I changed the key board with new same model. But the new one has the same issue. I mean it works partially a few letters works. Like if i press "K" it type "T" only 8-10 letter works.

Please suggest what could be possible problem.

Hi,

It may not just be keyboard that has been damaged when you had a spill on it. The port where you connect the ribbon cable of the keyboard may had been affected as well. Do make sure first that there's no more liquid inside the laptop that may cause more damage in the later future while you're using it.

try reseating the keyboard ribbon cable as ran into that problem with a customer's new keyboard til I reseated it properly as took 3 tries to get it right.
