Dell Inspiron AMD A8-7410 vs 4th Intel i3-4030u?

Just purchased a laptop at BB. Wanted the i3 as it was on sale for $299 but sold out and was offered the AMD A8-7410 for $329. Both have 8GB Mem, 1TH HD, 1366x768 res, and touchscreen. Should I return the AMD and hold out for i3 or would you stick with the AMD? Which is better in certain areas or overall?

Any input would be appreciated? Thanks

The AMD is slightly better, 4 cores running on 2,2 Ghz, up to 2,5 with turbo.

In simple tasks, the Intel could perform better due to higher single-core performance. In multi-tasking and games the AMD will be the winner here.

Judging by the raw specs, the AMD appears to be 5% faster.

Is multiple browsers or browsing and watching movies/listening to music considered multi-tasking? That's probably 75% of what I would be doing on the laptop. Occassional use of Microsoft Office apps and Photoshop.

Overall the laptop with i3-4030u would be better.

While the A8-7410 has 4 cores, it can only compete against the i3-4030u when all 4 cores are being used. Programs that only uses 1 or 2 cores will run far better on the i3-4030u. The graphics core in the A8-7410 is not very power, the Radeon R5 (Beema), is pretty weak. It is only about equal to the Intel HD 4000 based on how Notebookcheck.net ranks mobile GPUs. That means the Core i3-4030u with the Intel HD 4400 graphics core would provide better gaming performance.
