Dell - Inspiron Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 12GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive I want to put a graphics card in my computer and I already have a GEFORCE GTX 970 AFTERBURNER but I'm not so sure itll fit... it has a 12 pin connector that doesn't go anywhere to my observation and barely fits if I were to hack the hard drive slot. Would a new power supply be necessary?

Solution
The '12 pin connector that doesn't go anywhere' is the two 6 pin pci-ex connectors the card needs for power. So your power supply needs to have two of those connectors. If your current power supply does not have them, then yes, you will need a new power supply.

"Dell Inspiron desktop" can mean a lot of things. Without the specifics of the model of computer, it's tough to say more.
