I have Dell n5010 Laptop. I already have 320 GB HDD with windows 8.1 installed. I bought new SSD 64GB SSD with SSD Caddy. I replaced DVD Drive with SSD+SSD Caddy. I want to install Windows 8.1 on it. and make the SSD as Bootable Drive. I tried but I got the message "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu." can anyone help me to resolve this problem?

Some Dell models won't boot from an HDD or SSD that's in the caddy, hence the boot warning and error message from Windows Setup. You can only use the caddy for an extra storage drive on such models.

To install Windows on your SSD you will need to take out the HDD and put the SSD in it's place. Windows Setup should then be able to install Windows to it and you should not get the error.

You can put the HDD into the caddy instead of the SSD, and use it for storage after re-formatting it (but don't forget to copy any user files that you need off it before formatting).
