I manage tech for a small public library. One of our machines, A Dell Inspirion One 2330 (an all-in-one) came with a 2GB Hynix stick in one slot, and a 4GB stick in the other, for a total of 6GB.

A couple of months ago the computer wouldn't boot. By process of elimination I was able to boot the computer only after removing the 4GB stick. Thinking the stick had died, I ordered another, but had the same problem. Just a blank screen (no Dell logo, no POST activity) when the computer was started. Fans and LEDs come on, but no further progress.

Since then I've tried different RAM sticks from different vendors, all supposedly compatible with this machine, but the problem remains. I can boot fine with the 2GB stick in EITHER slot (so it's apparently not a defective slot problem). It's baffling me and I need help.

I'm attaching an image of my working stick (the Hynix) and a link to a new stick, purchased from Amazon, that I was assured by the vendor would work (it didn't).

Thank you.

Have you tried any of the 4GB in both slots too? I know you have probably done this but try the others in the slot the 2GB originally came out of, one at a time and see if you have any luck...
