Dell Inspiron RAM UPGRADE

Hi there,
I have a Dell Inspiron Desktop 660 MT : BTX Base.
My processor is an Intel Core i3-3220 (3.30GHz, 3MB)
My RAM is 6144 mb (1x4096+1x2048) 1600MHz DDR3.
Can I increase my RAM and by how much?
Should I replace or add on?
This is new to me so really need advice.
Any help would be much appreciated.

According to the spec sheet -- http://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_inspiron_desktop/inspiron-660_reference%20guide_en-us.pdf That will support 8GB RAM. You may be able to replace the 2GB RAM with another 4GB. The most stable answer would be to replace all your RAM with a matched pair of two 4GB DIMMs. That will be more expensive than a single 4GB DIMM. But there is the possibilities of not being able to match the 4GB DIMM you have with a similar part.

Hi Kanewolf.
Thank-you for that. It is most helpful, I'll go ahead and source 2 x 4GBs as you suggest. I 'd feel happier spending a bit more and getting it right, than trying to save cash and getting something that is unsuitable. Thanks again.
