The free updates were only available from the computer manuafacturers, if you purchase a Windows Vista computer in a certain time frame before the launch of Windows or OS in a similar time frame. If you purchased the computer, contact the manufacturer, you will have to supply the proof of purchase. If you purchased the OS, contact the store you purchased the OS from. They should have given you some sort of certificate so you can get the free upgrade.
