If you don't have a dual-hdd configuration, it will most likely be on AHCI as default. Either way, it will not benefit from the intel IRST if it doesn't have the appropriate hardware installed, so it will work on AHCI.
That model is pretty new so it definitely supports AHCi. Thing is, you will only find the AHCI option on older laptops. They removed it on the newer models, as it not needed for display.
