Looking to game a lil what are the best upgrades or mods should i apply? I bought this dell for 175 and updated all drivers and the bios. Its fast and clean with windows 7 pro 64 bit im not sure if its quad or dual core but it has turbo booster pushing the 2.4gh to 2.9gh havent used it. Im hell bent on improving it more.

Only thing that you can upgrade in that system is the hard drive, ram, network card, and optical drive. The only really logical upgrade would be to upgrade it to an SSD. Soldered on VGA = no video upgrade. Cpu upgrade = good luck. Just stick with what you have or add an ssd.

your in luck that you got a dell.

look around for cpu support list for your exact laptop. the cpu will be upgradable because dell supports a wide variety of cpu's in their laptops and any cpu that was sold in it at release will be able to be put into the laptop now. I did it in my inspiron n5010.

gpu upgrade can be done via new motherboard. this is risky and expensive only risk it if you have intel integrated gpu. risky due to the difficulty of getting cooling right.

I had to spend upwards of 5 hours sciencing out my cooling situation to upgrade from a i3 with igpu to i7 with 5650m but it works great!

ssd will make boot much faster and all load times.

ram meh just get at least 4 gb in dual channel large gb amounts dosent inprove performance noticeably after 4 gb in dual channel.

wifi card id get a tri channel killer Atheros 1103 card. hard to find but worth it if you can snatch one up. found a few listed as alienware parts on ebay and got them in a few dell laptops. tri band = faster than the best dual band. no Bluetooth though.
