Question Dell m6800 not booting with 1070 mxm gpu.

Hey guys I have dell precision m6800 laptop and wanted to upgrade the gpu.
I found this gtx 1070 mxm 3b. It's form factor is the same size as gtx 980 mxm.

I did try to install the gpu in my laptop. It fitted fine with no problems. But now the issue is the laptop doesn't even boot to windows. When the Dell logo is shown, the loading circle moves half, gets stuck and reboots again. And this keeps happening again and again.

Does anyone have any explanation for this ?

Did you make sure your laptop's BIOS is up to date? To also add, that laptop is quite dated, I don't see why anyone would want to gamble and spend money on a platform that isn't guaranteed to work with. This reddit might be worth a read, considering there's only one person with a GTX1070 MXM in that laptop.

You were fine with the 980M, you went awry with the 1070M.

Yes my laptop has the latest bios. I thought since this card was using the same form factor, it would work with m6800, plus I did see sellers mention that this card is compatible with many laptops including dell m6800.
