Dell Mouse not detected by Win 7

Greetings to the forum ...!

I had an issue with a new mouse that I bought and would like your help to solve it.

OS : Windows 7
Mouse: Dell USB Optical Mouse.

First time I connected it, it didn't work.
Next time, I restarted the computer, & it worked. Had no issues the whole day.

Next day when I started my PC, its not working again...... There's still red light, but no response.

Any idea what's wrong over here....?

Aren't mouse drivers installed already in the system..?

In the Dell Drivers & Downloads category, there is no mention of mouse drivers.

Not all of them. MS mice are covered. Not much else.

You haven't given the mouse model. That's what I'd Google.

MS111 Dell. So I think that's covered. Still my mouse is not working

If yours isn't one of those PCs then get another mouse.

I've gone through that list and I'm afraid didn't understand a thing out of it. But my mouse worked for complete 4 hours. Doesn't that make it compatible..?

Yeah it's cheap. But I thought I won't have a problem buying Dell. Isn't it a trusted manufacturer.

Anyway, I'll go for the replacement as soon as possible.

So I'm ending this thread, concluding that the issue occurred due to the mouse itself.
