Dell OGDG8Y Motherboard cpu upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my cpu to an intel core i7-2600, but I can't seem to find any information on if it would be compatible with the Dell 0GDG8Y motherboard. The CPU has an 1155 LGA socket and is listed as a Sandy-Bridge processor (Click Here). Previous threads on this are over 4 years old, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello.

Per Dell themselves, it should be possible to upgrade to a i7-2600.

You will just have to worry about heat inside. The original Dell cooler might be insufficient, and cannot be replaced easily. You will need to update to the latest BIOS, the A10.

I am currently running the intel core i5-2320 which has a 95 TDP, the same as the intel core i7-2600 (here is a nice comparison Click Here). I run my computer almost 24/7 and i have had it 5 or so years. Should I still be concerned about the original dell cooler?

Oh, I see. If your CPU is already a 95W, then you should have no issues at all. No need to be concerned. The i7-2600 will give you gains of around 20% compared to the i5. ^^ And run around the same temperatures.
