Hello I'm seriously looking into a new PC Now. I have found online these 2 systems. One with the i5 3470 and the I5 2400.

I am planning to insert a 970 into one of these and i know what I'm doing with the PSU But which system is better? If there's a Optiplex 3020 avaliable around then I'll be going for one of them. Don't worry about the 8 Pin PSU Issue there are 8 to 24 Pin PSU Adapters that are proved to work.

So which system is better if i decide between them?
Thank you

There is little difference, but I5-3470 is better. On the one hand it has an increase of 0.2 GHz in boost and on the other hand it is a more modern architecture with a CPI (instructions per cycle) slightly higher. It also has a better energy efficiency. Since neither of the two can do OC this point does not affect.

I suppose you have already seen it, but I warn you that the windows 10 license is not included in the pc.

I hope you enjoy your RIG.

Yeah that's fine. Since there's very little increase I'll go for the 990 as it's cheaper. If there's a 3020 for a good deal I'll get one of those as the performance is a lot better on Haswell machines. Windows license isn't a problem I have a Windows 7 license
