I was about to get some cas 9 g.skill memory to upgrade my dell optiplex 3020. But has anyone found any issues? I have a sneaking feeling I might be stuck having to use Cas 11. Hoping to get two sticks of 4gb 1600 cas 9 for total of 8gb dual channel. I cannot find any true specs on this dell mother board.
All I know is to use 1.5v max. Dells can be weird and there is not even a bios on this thing. Goes to some sort of utilities instead from boot screen.

Solution
A quick check on Crucial's site shows that the Optiplex 3020 runs DDR3 1600 memory at 1.5 volts with CAS 11. It can take up to 8GB memory modules, but that is about the only good news.

Sorry, but it looks like CAS 9 is out - you could plug it in and it will probably work, but at CAS 11.

For OEM systems like this, I tend to use Crucial's web site ( http://www.crucial.com ) and buy directly through them since they guarantee compatibility when you use their memory advisor or system scanner tools.

Sounds like my plan of cas 9 memory won't work then. Ack. Stuck with slower memory.
