Hi Guys,

I have an old Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF with a blower fan for cooling the CPU and exhausting air.
But I want to build my that PC into a ATX case. But because that case doesn't support blower fans, I need to use a regular CPU cooler. I'm going to use a stock intel cooler that uses 0.17 Amps, but the blower fan that is in there right now has 1.2 Amps. What will it do to my new cooler?

Thanks in advance

You may have a problem with the BIOS not accepting the small fan and throwing an error message. Dell fans usually range fron 1.2A. to 1.8A.
Here is a link to Delta fans search tool. Type in the size you need, and the voltage. You will get several part#s. Some of them will be available used, some not so much. You can probably find some out of Dell desktops that will work. But I agree Dell MB are not swap friendly even among Dells. They use their own secret connectors and change them whenever they fel like it.
Normally, DELL use their own non ATX motherboards and fixed IO shields and purpose built everything else, custom USB connectors etc, so you might not be able to fix it in an ATX case and even if the mobo did fit, the other bits might not connect up.
If I had a 7010, I would not rip it to bits then find it doesn't fit, but sell it as working system and buy fresh bit to build a new system.
Good luck.

That's not really the problem, I would like to do some modding, and I allready have a Gaming PC. But I plan on upgrading to a GTX 1060 and because I don't want to not use my GTX 960. So I have to put it into a ATX case because it doesn't fit in the SFF case. But won't the 0.17 Amp intel cooler spin very fast? Because the fan that's in there right now is 1.2 amps

Well, it had a special connector, but i've got a workaround for that (with some soldering)
