HI..
I am looking to buy a new budget desktop and i have checked out these 2 systems.
Dell optiplex 9020 ($560)
i7 4th gen (probably 4790)
4 GB DDR 3
500 Gb Hard disk
Dell optiplex 7020 ($440)
i7 4th gen (probably 4790)
4 GB DDR 3
500 Gb Hard disk
Both systems are same configuration except for the model. the shopkeeper said that the 7020 is cheap as it is outdated model.
My question is that what is the difference between optiplex 7020 & optiplex 9020?
why should i pay $120 more just for a newer model if all specs are same.
Secondly, i noticed in the specs sheet that they both have a 280 watt power supply. I intend to add 8Gb ram and a graphics (GTX 750 or 950) but i dont know if the power supply will support it. Since it is branded Dell, i suppose 280 watt supply could easily give upto 380 watt without slight overheating.
For those who will suggest that i build my own PC, i have already considered that.Unfortunately, I live in the middle east and getting good prices for parts is impossible. i cannot take advantage of most of the online deals and shipping costs usually kills any deals that are available for international shipping. after long search and comparisons, i have concluded it is best to buy a branded box and upgrade it.
Thanks in advance...
