Hello so I just bought a Dell Optiplex 9020 for pretty cheap on eBay and I’m looking to install a gtx 1050ti in it, I see a lot of back and forth answers about this and that I might need to install a new powersupply and get a 24 to 8 pin adapter to attach to the motherboard. I’m okay with this I’m more worried that I might need more than just this to get this machine going properly I’ll link both of the items I ordered, neither havevcome in yet and I haven’t decided on a power supply yet.

To Rickteous, the GPU does not need an external power connector, so it all depends on how many amps the PSU you have can give on the 12v rail. If you could tell how many amps the sticker on the side of the PSU says for +12v, or if there are multiple +12v, then for all of them, then I can tell you whether you need a new PSU or not.
To Happya29, the 1070 TI Will need a new PSU with PCI connectors. This means you will need a new PSU, as well as a 24-pin to 8-pin adapter. For a good budget PSU, I'd recommend a Seasonic S12ii 520w, however it depends on your country and budget. The adapter you need looks like this:
