Hello Toms Hardware!
I recently acquired a used Dell Optiplex 755 with 4 GB of Kingston memory (2 GB of 2 dimms of KVR800D2N5K2).
I replaced it with 8 GB of Kingston memory (2 GB of 4 dimms of KVR800D2N6).
When I plugged in the computer, it went thru its self test but stopped with just the power light on (green) and I could not turn it on (no post followed). I quickly removed the memory and put back the original 4 GB and was able to turn it on with the post coming up fine.
My only question is that does going from CAS 5 to 6 cause the problem or is the memory just bad?
Thanks in advance.
