Hey guys i hope i posted this in the right section, I got a Dell Poweredge from a friend of mine and I've been tinkering with it... for what ever reason it beeps constantly 1 beep per second with an Amber light blinking on the front, it boots fine no problems... what is the beeping??

Solution
It could be anything, on mine it was a dead Perc RAID battery, it could be fans, loose processors needing reseating or power supplies failing or needing the contacts cleaning, faulty remote manangement modules.

Here's some management software that might help with diagnostics:

p.s.
If your removing RAID PERCs and/or RAID RAM module DO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY off the RAID controller via the wired connector, failure will lead to the RAID RAM or PERC module being damaged (I lerned the hard way).
