So, to make things clear... there's not much information on this server's GPU compaibility. It's picky about video cards, it's locked in the BIOS, however it supports some of them. If anyone knows additional ones, please let me know. Here's the list:
These are the ones I haven't tried, but I found it on the internet:
HD4630
x300
x1300 PCI
x1550
x1900 AIW
Visiontek x1550 PCI 256M
Sapphire x1950GT 512M
Sapphire HD4850
HD4870 512M
HD5570?
XFX HD6570 1G
BFG 8800GT
BFG 8500GT
EVGA 9400GT
EVGA 9600GT
BFG 9600GT
BFG 9800GT 512M
Quadro NVS 290
Quadro FX 540
Quadro NVS 400

And there are the ones I have tried (TW856 board, 1.4.0 BIOS):
Asus Formula HD4770
Sapphire HD7750 1GB
Asus HD7770 1GB
Gigabyte 8600GT 256MD3 (4bit color only, but after you install the driver for it, it works flawlessly)

So, what's the fastest card for it? It supports both the 7750 and 7770. They are based on the same GPU, so my guess is it supports the R7 250X, since it's a rebranded HD7770, but a little bit faster. Anyway, the fastest card I know that will work for sure, is the HD7770. If you buy the 2GB version of it, it's pretty fast, in most games it's faster than the GT1030.

If you're having trouble with getting GPU's outside of the listed supported GPU's then I'd stay within the white list provided by your prebuilt maker. I'd stick with the 7770.
There's a minor trouble with that one. Dell didn't wanted the user to put a GPU in this, so they locked it in the BIOS, however some cards do work. And they never sold it with GPUs, so there's no QVL. Dell locked this GPU compatibility because there was their Precision lineup of computers. (PowerEdge=servers; Precision=workstations). I currently use the 7770 in it, but the GPU is sort of fast, but it only has 1 GB of VRAM, which isn't much. I know that the 7770 had a 2GB version, but I don't want to buy that one, I want something that's faster (like a GTX 950, which doesn't work, I tried). And the main goal of this post is to help people who want to get a GPU working their SC1430s.
