Hello i have just bought a dell precision 690 and wanted to upgrade the video card, but i found some information that kind of didnt make any sense. "Support for PCI Express x16 graphics cards up to 150 watts and with up to 512MB graphics". can someone please tell me if this is just outdated info or something just strange. By the way its the 750 watt power supply version not the 1000 watt version. thank you

O, ya...So will this work? cause it rises it and i see no way to raise the slots in the back on my case. or by the time i get all the parts will it cost the same amount as the Precision T7400s motherboard which i hear fits the 690s case the same, and just has two PCI-E 16x slots..

my graphics card is a Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 1GB DDR and 1600 Stream Processing Units. the new egg number is #N82E16814102872. and do you know if the Precision T7400s Motherboard will fit in the Precision 690 case, cause i already know the socket is the same for the CPU, and the RAM is the same, and the power pins are the same.

sweet, i have been on a few forums and so far what i can gather it will work. I might call dell and see if i can find out from them if the holes line up, but ya i like the dremel idea.

wait... the mother board rest on a metal pan looking thing that can be taken out. So if the T7400 has the same "pan" it should just slide in there, right?
and my motherboard is the dell F9394

does dell only say nvidia because thats who they had there contract with? and what do you think will happen if i got the motherboard and just put two of the same ati graphics cards in and put a crossfire bridge on them.

ok so we know the motherboard will work, so theres no harm in getting it, the worst thing that can happen is i will have the urge to upgrade the CPU. So i guess the only thing left to do is find out by trial and error.... and what do the hacked drivers do?

ok, so now im thinking that if I want to do crossfire or SLI i would like to do a custom build. because I have been looking on newegg for along time now, and i know what i want my computer to be.
You said an ATX motherboard will fit the precision case.
